Infant-Family

— Do you wonder how to best nurture your little one’s unique developmental timeline, learning style, sensory preferences and relational interests without succumbing to the false expectations that have turned parenting into a competitive sport? Are you or your little one needing extra support around the pregnancy, birth or the harrowing first years of life? Do you wonder if you struggle with something more intense than the baby blues? You are not alone.

From Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's Departments of Neonatology and Pediatrics to my private practices in Santa Monica and now Aspen, I have provided dyadic (parent-infant, parent-toddler, parent-preschooler) therapy as a pioneering health team psychologist in the field of Infant Mental Health.

—Most parents seek me out for support with conception, pregnancy stress, trauma, health or mood changes (depression, anxiety), postpartum mood changes and unusual thinking, premature birth, birth complications, injury, illness, caregiver separations, abuse, neglect, functional deficits, developmental delays, developmental disorders.

— I support families and their little ones from pregnancy through preschool with dyadic therapy and parent support. I provide ongoing or “tune-up” early childhood (birth to 5) Parenting Consultations. I provide early childhood developmental evaluations to better understand your little one’s typical development or to address questions about possible atypical development. These evaluations may inform health and early learning interventions. I also provide fun Developmental Play sessions for anyone wanting to learn more about their little one’s play preferences and emerging development. I provide consultations for self-organized groups of friends/ relatives.
